  • Noticed your Followers Gadget is Slightly Different? And mine too?

Blogger has updated its followers gadget to include the Google FriendConnect feature too, so that everybody with a gmail, yahoo or aim open id can now follow the blogs.

It’s just very simple, earlier you could follow only if you had a blog for yourself. But now, you can follow with just an open ID that almost all of us are having (or that can be created easily)

And also, now we can invite friends to read a blog, which was earlier difficult (I used to email all my contacts about my blogger post, and once, I even mailed Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, unknowingly to his email apj@abdulkalam.com because he was in my contacts list.

The best thing about this change is that, now you can extend your friendfeed account to your blogspot blog, which was earlier almost impossible for beginners due to the necessity of uploading two files to the website.

Now if you want to read more from the authority follow this link: Blogger Buzz: Friend Connect: Grow Your Blog’s Community

Or if you just want to check out how it works move the mouse towards your right.

  • Bucephalus and Kanthaka – two Horses from History

Heard of Bucephalus or Kanthaka. From the title you’d have understood that they are two horses. But the fact is that they are not just horses. They are the horses of two great men.

Bucephalus was Alexander the Great‘s horse and the most famous actual horse of antiquity (a long period of cultural history centered on the Mediterranean Sea, comprising the interlocking civilizations of Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome).

Now, Kanthaka was the favourite horse of Prince Siddhartha, (who came to be known as Gautama Buddha)

Two creatures etched in history by the grace of their masters.

  • Isn’t Recession Fear-in-Mind-Borne

    orkut – What is recession?

This Story is about a man who once upon a time was selling Hot dogs by the roadside.
He was illiterate, so he never read newspapers.
He was hard of hearing, so he never listened to the radio.
His eyes were weak, so he never watched television.
But enthusiastically, he sold lots of hot dogs.
He was smart enough to offer some attractive schemes to increase his sales.
His sales and profit went up.
He ordered more a more raw material and buns and use to sale more.
He recruited few more supporting staff to serve more customers.
He started offering home deliveries. Eventually he got himself a bigger and better stove.
As his business was growing, the son, who had recently graduated from College, joined his father.

    Then something strange happened.
The son asked, “Dad, aren’t you aware of the great recession that is coming our way?”
The father replied, “No, but tell me about it.” The son said, “The international situation is terrible.
The domestic situation is even worse. We should be prepared for the coming bad times.”
The man thought that since his son had been to college, read the papers, listened to the radio and watched TV.
He ought to know and his advice should not be taken lightly.
So the next day onwards, the father cut down the his raw material order and buns, took down the colourful signboard,
removed all the special schemes he was offering to the customers and was no longer as enthusiastic.
He reduced his staff strength by giving layoffs.
Very soon, fewer and fewer people bothered to stop at his hot dog stand.
And his sales started coming down rapidly, same is the profit.
The father said to his son, “Son, you were right”.
“We are in the middle of a recession and crisis. I am glad you warned me ahead of time.”

Moral of The Story: It’s all in your MIND! And we actually FUEL this recession much more than we think we do!!!!!!!!!! !!

What can we take away from this story??

    1. How many times we confuse intelligence with good judgment?

    2. Choose your advisers carefully but use your own judgment

    3. A person or an organization will survive forever, if they have the 5 Cs

    * Character
    * Commitment
    * Conviction
    * Courtesy
    * Courage

The tragedy today is that there are many walking encyclopedias that are living failures.
The More practical and appropriate views on this economic recession is:
“This is the time to reunite together for any small or a big organization,
this is the time to motivate and retain people which are the biggest asset,
this is the time to show more commitments to the customers,
this is the time show values of our company to the world,
and this is the time to stand by our Nation”.

  • How to Make Blog Post Through Emails in Blogger, ie Send an Email and It Will Become a Blog Post, How

Ever thought it would be a lot easier if you could make blog posts directly from your GMail or yahoo mail inbox. But it’s possible too. Blogger allows this option of having a unique email address to which you can send an email such that the subject of the mail becomes the title and the body becomes the blog post.
To do this, you should create a Mail-to-Blogger address which you will use to send posts via email to your blog by going to Settings | Email

The format of the email address is username.secretword@blogger.com .

Here, the secret word is something that we can specify so that only we may send emails to the blog.

Otherwise, you can also make your email public so that others can post to your blog. But, when doing this, make sure that the posts are not published immediately, because, in that case, this feature, like anything else, may be misused.

Sometimes email programs append text to the bottom of each sent message; to make sure this cruft doesn’t get posted to your blog, put #end at the end of your post.

If you don’t understand this, you can view the illustrated blogger help too

  • It’s called Mindset!!

Again, thanks to fun and fun only. But this is not fun. This is serious.

    It’s called Mindset!!
As my friend was passing the elephants, he suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. No chains, no cages. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from the ropes they were tied to but for some reason, they did not. My friend saw a trainer nearby and asked why these beautiful, magnificent animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away.

“Well,” he said, “when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.” My friend was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn’t, they were stuck right where they were.

Like the elephants, how many of us go through life hanging onto a belief that we cannot do something, simply because we failed at it once before? So make an attempt to grow further…. Why shouldn’t we try it again?

“YOUR ATTEMPT MAY FAIL, BUT NEVER FAIL TO MAKE AN ATTEMPT.”

  • What to do when you make a mistake?

Suppose you have made a mistake. And you don’t know what to do next.
Then I think I can help you. Becuase I’ve gone through the same.

    1. Understand that you’ve committed a mistake and accept it as true.
    2. If there is anything reversible about the mistake do those. Like, if you broke the glass, buy a new one. If you fought with anyone, talk with them and settle the matters.
    3. Forget it, but don’t forget to learn from it.

Now, the last step is the most difficult one.
And for that, I think these cool quotes can help you.

A man’s errors are his portals of discovery. James Joyce

Do not brood over your past mistakes and failures as this will only fill your mind with grief, regret and depression. Do not repeat them in the future. Swami Sivananda

Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new. Albert Einstein

I think we all wish we could erase some dark times in our lives. But all of life’s experiences, bad and good, make you who you are. Erasing any of life’s experiences would be a great mistake. Luis Miguel

All men make mistakes, but only wise men learn from their mistakes. Winston Churchill

Take chances, make mistakes. That’s how you grow. Pain nourishes your courage. You have to fail in order to practice being brave. Mary Tyler Moore

It is the highest form of self-respect to admit our errors and mistakes and make amends for them. To make a mistake is only an error in judgment, but to adhere to it when it is discovered shows infirmity of character. Dale E. Turner

If you don’t make mistakes, you don’t make anything Proverb

The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing. John Powell

Mistakes are painful when they happen, but years later a collection of mistakes is what is called experience. Denis Waitley

  • The Art of Respecting

Now for my international friends :

This morning, though I slept at only 12:00, yesterday, I woke up at 5:00 and thinking that it was only 3:00, thought:

I’ve always tried my best to show respect to elders, deserve it or not.
But, now, I have to think this.
Aren’t we all human beings? But for the difference in age and difference in experience, is there anything different among any two human beings? There are quite a few great exceptions. But for that.

Showing respect is an art. It is not having respect. It is showing respect. Does an organism of any other species in this vast biodiversity hot spot called earth respect any other member. In monkeys, there are leaders. But, but for the fear of getting thrashed into a pulp, does the other monkeys respect the Alpha male?

That’s why I said, respecting is an art. And I am an actor who forgot to act for a few minutes. So, if anyone is wounded at their hearts, please don’t care. It will go when it go.
