  • God As The Cosmic Consciousness

The reason why there are a lot of atheists in the world is that nobody could provide people with a rational definition of God.
Some people praised God as the great soul who created and controls the universe. And others knew this couldn’t happen.
Some defined God as the beat of one’s heart or the thoughts of one mind. And others knew that such a thing wouldn’t possess any powers that a useful God would have.

But, though unheard by a vast majority, there are excellent definitions of God and everything hidden inside many of our ancient text books like the upanishads. Only some people, lucky to have both access to Sanksrit and access to those literary gems, or lucky to have a great guru, happened to know the actual and rational definition of God, as proposed in the upanishads.

This definition, I have been reading again and again from Swami Vivekananda and Swami Paramahamsa Yogananda. It is not just rational, it absolutely gives today’s theists a hope and at the same time do not hurt atheists in any way too.

    So let us begin.

When we go on dividing atoms we get subatomic particles. But though we can’t, as physicists, divide anymore, there is an even finer particle inside every atom. Let us call this fine particles.
So the whole universe is made up of these fine particles. (A lot like string theory)

Now, these particles can be controlled by human mind. Our mind can produce certain sensation / vibration / energy / wave or anything which can control the arrangement of these fine particles. Just like in nanotechnology we rearrange particles and get new things, when these fine particles are rearranged we can create things from thin air, etc… (yeah, you said it, miracles)

But not everybody’s mind can do it. Only a properly trained, well-experienced mind can do that. (So, you just can’t go about and do it)

(read this chapter from An Autobiography of a Yogi for more details. I know it is slightly different from what i just told. But i just fine tuned the theory to make it more rational. So, this is how miracles work.)

And God? God is superconsciousness. Just like you are conscious of yourself, there is a larger consciousness which is the sum total of every one’s consciousness. (Compare it to the world wide web, no one is the core, everyone is a part and yet as a whole it is a marvel). So, everyone’s consciousness is interconnected and this extreme collaboration of consciousnesses is called superconsciousness. Ordinary people (untrained, inexperienced people) can not experience this superconsciousness (like if you don’t have the password you can’t enter the database). But those who meditate daily and do other things that helps in improving the ability of mind (these are the things that is taught in yoga) they can access this superconsciousness as they wish.
(Read this from Swami Vivekananda’s complete works)
And they can manipulate others thoughts, rearrange fine particles, heal diseases, materialise at another half of the world, and so on.

Such a God is scientific, enviable and believable.

    I know it’s a lot like a fairy tale.
But when you do get time feed from these two online resources

They will surely give you a lifetime worth ideas. (By the way, my next plan is to hack the password of the superconsciousness)

  • Do You Think Everything Happened By Chance?

This is the question which has shaken my base of atheism. And this is also the question which clearly demarcates atheists from theists.

The Big Bang, Evolution, Quantum Mechanics, Conservation of Energy…
    Agreed. Everything is right.
But do you think that all these happens by chance?

Would you be feeling better attributing a designer to all these, or thinking that it all happened by chance?

This question has shook me in the last few months. I don’t know where I heard it from, for I always thought it was like “The Human Brain is very very complex, so don’t you think someone should have made it that way?” But when the term ‘chance’ was involved my mind started conflicting with itself.

For everything else in this physical world, we know the cause, the reason. An apple falls to earth, it is the gravity. Drinking water is essential, water serves various purposes in the body. Rain, evaporation and condensation. War, greed of power.

For everything else, we either know the cause, or we are eager to know it.

But for the cause of “everything”, we (I mean the atheists) don’t know and we don’t care.
We know it all started from the Big Bang. But we don’t know what was before it.
We know it all came from a single cell. But we don’t know why it is evolving.
We know the electrons carry a charge, and protons yet another. But we don’t know how their charges are different.

And we attribute it all to chance. “It so happened.” “It is such. “

Why? We never said an apple fall to earth because it is such. We never said it rains because it rains. We never said people wage war because people like war.

But we say that “evolution happens”, “there is no time before Big Bang”, “protons carry positive charge”. We say it but we don’t know the reason.

Why are we partial? For everything else, we are ready to find a reason, but regarding creation, we like to answer that it all happened by chance. Isn’t that double standards?

    ——————————————–

P.S. : But the question “Who created God” still exists. And that is why I remain an atheist.
“OMG! Will we ever reach an answer?”

  • The Worst Thing for an Ambitious Young Man is – Spirituality

If most of your dreams for your life can be seen as ‘highly improbable’ or ‘least likely’ by many others, if the cheese in you is not older than a quarter century of years, if you would love to continue loving life and fearing death, don’t read anything after this period ‘ . ‘

OK. So you agree that you are ready to take on the sole responsibility of whatever happens to you by reading this article henceforth as yours. Remember, you are gonna be wandering in a lost world, and there is no turning back. This is your point of no return – .

    That was a bold action.
    Think.

Let X denote your name. (Here, your refers to the body and mind that is enclosed inside the 6 or less feet long and much less wide and deep magnitude of volume sitting in the chair)

So, Mr.X, if I say that you are your hands, will you agree?
Or if I say you are your legs?
    Or heart?
    Lungs?
    Brain?
    Torso?
    Your whole body?

Then what are you? Your body + your mind?
Now you can say, that your mind is a part of your brain and hence you are your body itself, the hardware and the software installed in it.

    But, I disagree.
I say that you are not your body or your mind, nor both. But YOU are a consciousness, that is watching over your mind, and your body. Your body is just a tool that serves the act of receptors of radio signals. Your intellect, another tool that process these information. Your mind, yet another tool that adds emotion to spice up your dinner and to serve it to you, the consciousness, which witness everything.
    Understood?
You are not your mind, or body, but the consciousness that presides over the ceremony.

The mind is just a screen onto which the ideas are projected by the reel (body) and you are the audience in the theater who watches the show.

Now the problem is, people tend to think that they are their body or mind. They associate their existence with their body or intellect or mind. That is why they feel pain when the body is pierced, they cry when the mind is hurt. They can’t bear insult. They can’t suffer hardships. They just freak out for help.
Try disassociating yourself from your mind and body. See yourself as that consciousness. And you will soon realize that life is fun.

Now, even if you did not pay heed to my previous warnings, you are still safe. It is not late to close this page or to shift to some other posts.

    OK. Then.

Until now, we were just discussing a psychological brain washing which can be used productively to bring the best out of anybody, without having him to break down.
But from now, we dive into the deepest depths of Hinduism, Advaita and all such religious thoughts, that are far too complicated to be understood let alone be experienced. But, the very fact that we can’t understand these makes us try to understand it. And the more we understand it, the more we realize that our lives are meaningless.

Now, where did we stop? Yes. The consciousness.

This consciousness, was called atman by Vivekananda and many other Indian sages. The rough English translation brings us to the dictionary entry – soul.

So, it is this atman that defines us. We are not the sum of our body made up of matter and mind made up of even finer matter. But we are the infinite atman that stretches into every nook and corner of the universe. [Can’t understand, right? Me too]

And this atman is a part of the greater atman – the paramatman, the superconsciousness. The superconsciousness is the sum of all consciousnesses. It is the air into which all the gases called atman melts into. [If we can agree on the previous paragraph, why not this?]

So, when man reaches such a level, where he is devoid of any thoughts about his mind, or any sense towards his body, he attains the superconsciousness. He is then logged into the Godly consciousness and has the infinite access to all the knowledge in the world. He knows the answer to every questions that gave him sleepless nights – Why am I here? What should I do? Who am I? – and it gave him happiness, eternal bliss. [But though I searched all through Vivekananda’s works like Google does with internet, I couldn’t find the login form where we can enter our username and password so as to access the aforesaid things. Sure, Google misses something]

Now you are in a confusion. You understand that there is some timber in this tree. But you can’t just cut it and make a sofa set for your living room. You want to make one. But you don’t have the axe or the chisel. You are gonna employ everything you’ve got around you to try and bring that tree down. But you can’t.

That’s why I warned you previously. You are gonna be wandering.

  • Why we do what we do

    There was nothing…

    Then, there was a point…
    It was infinitely heavy.

    It started expanding…
Matter started to get its physical laws.

    Dust particles condensed.
    Condensed dust particles joined.
    Joined condensed dust particles grouped.
    Galaxies were formed.

    Galaxies meant lot of stars.
Lot of stars meant lot more celestial bodies other than the glowing bodies.
    It meant lot of planets.
Lot of planets meant different planets.
    Different planets meant different conditions.
    Different conditions meant different environments.

And there was one galaxy called Milky Way.
There was one star called Sun.
There was one planet called Earth.
    It had a different environment.

There was a spontaneous creation of Organic molecules.

There was changes in the environment.
There was an urge in the Organic molecules to live – (THE SECRET OF LIFE)
    There was adaptation.
    There was evolution…

    Because it was at a distance not too far and not too near to sun – the temperature was optimum for liquid water;
    Because its size was not too large, and therefore gravity was not so large to make water solid;
    Because its size was not too small, its atmosphere was not too thin, so water could not be dried;

    Because there were large amounts of oxygen present in the seas as compounds that gradually gased out;

    Life could exist…

    Evolution continued…
    Organisms became complex.
    Porifera
    Coelenterata
    Platyhelminthes
    Nemotoda
    Arachnida
    Arthropoda
    Mollusca
    Echinodermata
    Protochordata
    Vertebrata

And in the last type of organisms, there was man.
    He was a fool.
    He learned hunting.
    He learned cooking.
    He learned making tools.
    He learned agriculture.
    He found out wheels.
    He found out steam.
    He found out uranium…
    He explored…
    He implored…

    He made divisions.
    He made countries.
    He made laws.
    He broke them.
    He waged wars.
    He killed.
    He gave birth (or She?)
    He lived…

He found out why for 12 hours he could see everything, but for another 12 hours he couldn’t without electricity.
He found out why paper burnt…

He found out how to talk.
He found out how to talk with people metres away.
He found out how to talk with people kilometres away.
He found out how to talk with people countries away.
He found out how to talk with people planets away…

He found out why he was like his father and mother.

He found out that he wanted to find out everything.
He found out that he wanted to survive.
    But he couldn’t find why.
He couldn’t find why he thought what he thought.
He couldn’t find why he did what he did.

    He can never find it.
Because it is the SECRET OF LIFE.
It is a secret of the nature.
And nature stores secret with an encryption no hacker can hack.

  • What I believe about God

    God.
He is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent and omnibenevolent.

The above one is the best definition I could find for ‘God’.
The concept of God is so self-consistent that there is no way to disprove it to a believer.
But to a non-believer, the same ideas seems to be the most rubbish ideas that can be found in this universe (they call it ‘crap’, isn’t it?)

Now, let me put in my views.
God is an abstract idea. There is no such place called Heaven where He lives.

God is the practical application of the most intelligently created concept of a power which can decide what happens around us (and which can be called in the simplest terms as ‘will power’).
God is a base upon which the tired ones can rest. God is a vast resource from which we can draw infinitely large amount of inspiration. God is an ocean of ideas. God is a nice feeling. God is a pioneer. God is a light. God is a vision. God is a dream. God is a creditor. God is a care-taker.
    God is a reliance.

    God is mind.

Yes. This is the secret. God lies in everyone’s mind. God is our mind. It is our mind which helps us in whatever ways we want it to. It is the mind that we mean by God.
And, our ancestors thought… there would be people who are not confident about themselves… they won’t trust their mind or its power either… then what is the way to make them confident?
And they found the answer. They found that if they substituted mind with God (who is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent) whom anyone would easily trust upon, they could make the less confident ones more confident, because now they are not relying upon their minds but on the omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent God.
Thus, our ‘great’ great-grandfathers engineered a brilliant idea to exploit the talent hidden in people – God.

This belief of God got stronger with the many myths that surrounds divinity. Classics and epics were written to glorify God. These were meant as guidelines for people to follow for leading a better life. Then the people who forged the thought died. Their friends died. The whole generation died. Everyone who knew how the concept got visualised died.

Years passed. Then decades. Then centuries. By now, the belief had been so strongly nailed upon human minds and hearts that no one thought to question it.

Then comes the 20th and21st century. By now, people have started losing faith. They have begun to ask questions. They have found their way back to the situations that made their ancestors create the idea. They have come to know that they needn’t believe in God if they can believe upon themselves. There is nothing to cover the truth.

Now they know – God didn’t create man, it was man who created God.

There are people who still can’t think beyond what they were made to believe from their birth onwards (or even earlier through genes). They shouldn’t be forced to accept the truth. And there is no need to. When everyone realises the truth, when everyone -good and bad – realises the truth, the world might become an unstable one. The world may explode.
So better let it as it is. Let those who know, know, and those who don’t, don’t.
    That God is you.
