Payloads of Chandrayaan-I
There are 11 payloads of which 5 are Indian, 3 of ESA, 2 of United States and 1 is from Bulgaria.
The 5 Indian ones are
- Terrain Mapping Camera (TMC): For complete mapping of moon topography.
- Hyperspectral Imager (HySI): a CCD camera designed to obtain the spectroscopic data for mapping of minerals on the surface of the moon as well as for understanding the mineralogical composition of the moon’s interior
- Lunar Laser Ranging Instrument (LLRI): To provide necessary data for determining the accurate altitude of Chandrayaan-1 spacecraft above the lunar surface. To determine the global topographical field of the Moon as well as to generate an improved model for the lunar gravity field.
- High Energy X-ray Spectrometer (HEX): 1st planetary experiment to carry out spectral studies at ‘hard’ X-ray energies using good energy resolution detectors. Designed to help explore the possibility of identifying polar regions covered by thick water-ice deposits as well as to identify regions of high Uranium and Thorium concentrations.
- Moon Impact Probe (MIP):To demonstrate the technologies required for landing a probe at the desired location on the moon.
Other payloads
- Chandrayaan-1 Imaging X-ray Spectrometer (C1XS): This instrument intends to carry out high quality mapping of the moon using X-ray fluorescence technique for measuring elemental abundance of Magnesium, Aluminium, Silicon, Iron and Titanium distributed over the surface of the moon.
- Smart Near Infrared Spectrometer (SIR-2): This instrument aims to study the lunar surface to explore the mineral resources, the formation of its surface features, the way different layers of the moon’s crust lie over one another and the way materials are altered in space.
- Sub keV Atom Reflecting Analyser (SARA): The aim of this instrument is to study the surface composition of the moon, the way in which moon’s surface reacts with solar wind, the way in which surface materials on the surface of the moon change and the magnetic anomalies associated with the surface of the moon.
- The Bulgarian 1
Radiation Dose Monitor (RADOM): This instrument aims to qualitatively and quantitatively characterise the radiation environment in space around the moon’s vicinity. It will help study the radiation dose map of space near the moon at various latitudes and altitudes. - Nasa’s 2
Mini Syntheic Aperture Radar (MiniSAR): This is one of the two scientific instruments of the United States flown in Chandrayaan-1 mission - Moon Mineralogy Mapper (M3): This is an imaging spectrometer which is intended to assess and map lunar mineral resources at high spatial and spectral resolution to support planning for future targeted missions.

The goals of Chandrayaan-I
Primarily, Chandrayaan-I is dedicated
1. To know more about the moon
2. To improve Indian technology
3. To provide chances in planetary research for young Indian ScientistsThese will be met through high resolution remote sensing of the moon in the visible, near infrared, microwave and X-ray regions of the electromagnetic spectrum. With this, preparation of a 3-dimensional atlas of the lunar surface and chemical mapping of entire lunar surface is envisaged.

Chandrayaan-I in work
It’s all clear. And as planned, Chandrayaan was carried into its orbit around the earth by PSLV-C11, today (22 October, 2008) morning at 6.22 AM. It will now change into a more elliptical orbit and finally shift to the orbit around moon.

How to become the center of attraction
It is human nature to yearn for attention. But everyone is certainly not going to be successful in this very particular case, just as there can’t be two lions in a single pride. Now there are many ways to make people listen to you. But attention must be bought. It can’t automatically come to you without you doing something. Now keep in mind these things:
- The world is a mirror. It gives you back whatever you give it. So to earn attention, you will have to pay it too.
- The best way to have people around you and the best way to have friends around you is the same: befriend who is around you. And the best way to make friends is to talk. Talk something. Anything. Words have a magical touch. As the graviton pulls the body it reaches to the body it left, words attract people to the one who lets out them and bind them with emotional gravity to the speaker. Therefore to have people glued around you, always talk something so that if they go away, they would miss something.
- Don’t show that you are eager to receive attention. But unobtrusively, start gaining attention.
- One thing you will have to certainly avoid from your life is skipping chances. There can be no other thing as agonizing as a wasted opportunity. If you get a chance to perform, do it then and there. Hesitate for a moment and it’s lost. There’s no way you can buy back the chance, and almost surely the same chance will not come to you again.
- Keep smiling. Ha! This one. It’s sure gonna be a grand success. Unless there are around you people who are very nice that they hate smiling people, you’re always gone to be admired if you keep a smiling face 24/7. Now the only problem is you will have to widen your mouth a little extra than your natural pose to smile to a person.
- Always be frank. There is no quality better than frankness that’s going to attract people. Be ready to admit mistakes. Do tell out loud the silly mistake that you committed. Because, if you try to hide up, and if someone had seen it, then there’s no way that you can roll out of the issue. Honesty is the best policy.
Best of luck

Relativity : The Special and General Theory : Albert Einstein
So. You went about virtually throughout the internet and couldn’t understand what relativity is. Think you could if the man who found it explained to you. Here is the chance, this pdf e-book is the original introduction (or is it complete?) to both the theories given by Einstein himself.

Self Confidence and Attitude
A story that I got from Success does not come in a day community in Orkut. Thanks to the TS Duttkumar
A business executive was deep in debt and could see no way out. Creditors were closing in on him. Suppliers were demanding payment.
He sat on the park bench, head in hands, wondering if anything could save his company from bankruptcy.
Suddenly an old man appeared before him.
“I can see that something is troubling you,” he said. After listening to the executive’s woes, the old man said, “I believe I can help you.”
He asked the man his name, wrote out a cheque, and pushed it into his hand saying, “Take this money. Meet me here exactly one year from today, and you can pay me back at that time.” Then he turned and disappeared as quickly as he had come.
The business executive saw in his hand a check for $500,000, signed by John D. Rockefeller, then one of the richest men in the world!
“I can erase my money worries in an instant!” he realized. But instead, the executive decided to put the un-cashed check in his safe. Just knowing it was there might give him the strength to work out a way to save his business, he thought.
With renewed optimism, he negotiated better deals and extended terms of payment. He closed several big sales. Within a few months, he was out of debt and making money once again.
Exactly one year later, he returned to the park with the un-cashed check.
At the agreed-upon time, the old man appeared. But just as the executive was about to hand back the check and share his success story, a nurse came running up and grabbed the old man.
“I’m so glad I caught him!” she cried. “I hope he hasn’t been bothering you. He’s always escaping from the rest home and telling people he’s John D. Rockefeller. “
And she led the old man away by the arm.
The astonished executive just stood there, stunned. All year long he’d been wheeling and dealing, buying and selling, convinced he had half a million dollars behind him.
Suddenly, he realized that it wasn’t the money, real or imagined, that had turned his life around. It was his newfound self-confidence that gave him the power to achieve anything he went after.
Have faith in your self as only that counts.

Aren’t we naturally immune to HIV?
Our immune system can ward off almost all the diseases that catch human beings. But what about HIV? Why can’t we keep off it too? Are the yogis immune to HIV?
All of these questions bring us to one answer – “We were immune to HIV.” There is an enzyme called APOBEC – 3G that can fight HIV by stopping the virus from replication. But why are millions dying?
Because HI Virus has improved itself. It has evolved so as to have a code which produces the protein Vif called “virulence factor”. This Vif attaches with APOBEC -3G so that the focus of our enzyme is lost and at the very same moment, HIV gets inside. The watch dog is done with, there is nothing to fear.
But research has begun to find whether or not we can benefit from this body mechanism.
